Hawkers Coming Soon to Downtown Crown

There’s always something new happening in Crown in Gaithersburg, Maryland—and 2026 is bringing several exciting additions to the neighborhood.
From new restaurants and dessert spots to retail and community spaces, Downtown Crown continues to evolve as one of Montgomery County’s most vibrant places to live, dine and gather.
As Crown residents and local Realtors, we experience these changes firsthand. Here’s a look at what’s new and coming soon to Crown.
Hawkers Asian Street Food
One of the most anticipated additions is Hawkers Asian Street Food, coming to the former Ted’s Montana Grill space at 105 Ellington Boulevard.
Known for its energetic atmosphere and shareable dishes inspired by the street markets of Asia, Hawkers offers favorites including dumplings, bao, noodles, curries and rice dishes.
The restaurant already has a popular Bethesda location, and we’re excited to see the concept make its way to Crown.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
Kitchen Social
Kitchen Social is coming to 203 Crown Park Avenue, taking over the former Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar space.
The Crown restaurant will be Kitchen Social’s first Maryland location. The concept is known for its scratch kitchen, globally inspired American menu, cocktails and social atmosphere.
Construction has been underway, with the restaurant targeting an opening in late August 2026.
It’s an exciting new chapter for one of the most prominent restaurant spaces in Downtown Crown.
Millie’s Ice Cream
Downtown Crown is also getting a little sweeter.
Millie’s Ice Cream is preparing to open its first Maryland location at 202 Ellington Boulevard.
The Pittsburgh-based company is known for premium, scratch-made ice cream and will occupy the former Crêpe Shoppe location next to El Güero Mexicano.
For a walkable community like Crown, we think an ice cream shop is a perfect addition—especially for summer evenings in Downtown Crown.
Persiano Gallery
It’s not just restaurants coming to Crown.
Persiano Gallery is returning to Downtown Crown and is expected to occupy the former Container Store space at 201 Ellington Boulevard.
The return of the furniture and home décor retailer adds another home and design destination to Downtown Crown’s growing mix of restaurants, shops and services.
Recently Opened in Crown
Several new businesses have already joined the neighborhood.
Sixty Vines is now open at 212 Ellington Boulevard, bringing its wine-country-inspired restaurant and extensive wine-on-tap program to Crown.
El Güero Mexicano, formerly Taco Bar El Güero, has relocated to 200 Ellington Boulevard with an expanded concept.
The Crêpe Shoppe has moved into its new location at 230 Crown Park Avenue, while Rowan has also joined Downtown Crown with its nurse-led ear-piercing studio.
Together with Crown’s established restaurants, retailers and services, these additions continue to expand what residents can enjoy just steps from home.
Crown Continues to Grow
